about + vision

In the 1920’s, women were not allowed to be Members of the National Association of Real Estate Boards (predecessor to the National Association of REALTORS®), and the Women’s Council of REALTORS® was essentially formed out of necessity. Officially established in 1938, as the “Women’s Division” of the National Association of Real Estate Boards after leaders witnessed an exponential growth of women working in Real Estate and an increased participation of women at national conventions. Since its inception, now over 80 years ago, many dedicated Members have served as role models and achieved many “firsts” in the industry and in their communities, further strengthening the Council’s reputation as a National Organization that truly builds up influential business leaders within the industry.

Although formed out of exclusion, we don’t exclude anyone – in fact approximately 10% of our Members are male and we welcome EVERYONE regardless of gender to join us in such a positive movement of supporting our peers and helping rise up leaders on a local, state, and national level.

The sole purpose of the Women’s Council of REALTORS® Greater Snohomish Network is to support the Network excellence in serving our Members + Strategic Partners and to develop strong leaders for the Council, the profession, and the community as well as support the Mission and Vision of the Women’s Council of REALTORS®.

The Women's Council of REALTORS® organization is a nationwide network of successful REALTORS®, advancing women as business leaders in the industry and in the communities we serve. “When Women Are Present, Everything Changes!”. The Women's Council of REALTORS® is recognized as the voice for women in Real Estate, and the premier source for the development of leaders in the industry, organized real estate, and beyond

industry leaders

Women’s Council of REALTORS® partners and collaborates with the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR), as well as State + Local REALTOR® Associations and is proudly the largest Network infrastructure in the REALTOR® family! These long established strategic relationships allow for organized maximum exposure and involvement within our robust industry. The power of our 80+ year old national organization is simply unprecedented. With over 250 Networks throughout the United States, six of which are right here in Washington State, almost 80% of our Members confirm that by simply being involved in Women’s Council they have become stronger leaders in all areas of life.

It is important to note that in addition to building up leaders, the average income of a Women’s Council Member is TWICE the amount of the average REALTOR®. Industry experience is also significantly longer, yielding our Members with a higher commission average + more than half of their business resulting from referrals. The Women’s Council of REALTORS® focuses on continually improving the industry as a whole, which includes working closely with Local & State Representatives, and making sure our industry needs are met in D.C. This is why supporting the REALTOR® Political Action Committee (RPAC) is so crucial – to protect existing and future homeowners as well as small business owners. Our Members feel led to become part of the solution by getting involved however they can and as a result become the voice of Real Estate.
